Originally from Penang, I completed my secondary education at Chung Ling High School Butterworth. The spirit of 爱吾锺灵 (Love My Chung Ling), and the 锺灵中学学生的十大信条 (Ten Principles of Chung Ling Students) remain deeply rooted in my identity.
I obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the Faculty of Civil Engineering University of Technology Malaysia (UTM), followed by a Master of Technology Management from the Faculty of Management
I spent four years at YTL Corporation Bhd (Specifically YTL Cement Bhd.), one of the Malaysia's best-managed conglomerates.
This extensive industry experience allows me to effectively bridge the gap between engineering, technology, technical, management, and the strategic expectations of large organisations.
In 2007, I was awarded a prestigious scholarship by the Ministry of Higher Education to pursue a PhD at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland-an institution consistently ranked among the world's best universities by QS World University Ranking and Times Higher Education.
My time in Edinburgh was deeply enriching, providing an elite environment for learning from the best. I returned to Malaysia in January 2011 to join the Faculty of Technology Management and Technopreneurship (FPTT) at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), officially obtaining my PhD on 26 June2012
Later, I returned to the University of Edinburgh as a Visiting Researcher, from July 2018 to June 2019.
